Welcome to the following new residents who will be joining the Caister Family during February this year and hope their stay here will be a long and happy one:-

  • Donna Fourie Unit 102

Aquacise classes are held every Monday at 09:45 am and all interested parties wanting to join in the fun are to place their names on the list on the notice board.

The Clinic Management would like to remind the residents of the following:

  1. Routine blood pressure checks are available in the clinic free of charge on Mondays and Thursdays between 10:00 am and 12:00 noon.
  2. The trimming of nails is reserved for Wednesdays from 2:30 pm and needs to be booked in advance.
  3. Routine dressings are done between 09:30 am and 2:30 pm and in the event of an emergency wound care, this will be accommodated at all times.
  4. Residents are reminded of the clinic’s visiting hours which is from 10:00 am to 11:00 am and from 3:00 pm and 4:00 pm as outside of these times, the staff may be busy attending to the patients and unable to see visitors at the same time, so please respect the above and only visit at the allocated times.
  5. On arrival at the clinic and you do not see a staff member to assist you, please ring the assistance bell on the reception desk as the staff member may be attending to a patient and

did not see you.

Residents are advised to be mindful that the trained staff in the clinic have their lunch break between 1:00 pm and 1:30 pm but will be available at all times in case of an emergency. The trained staff in clinic has access to the entrance keys for every apartment in case of emergency and if you have had reason to change your locks, please ensure that the clinic has been provided with a copy of the correct key.

The return of the Caister bus has been delayed due to the non-availability of spares required for the repairs due to the accident that occurred on the 1st November 2024. The spares have now been sourced and it is estimated that the repairs will be concluded by the middle of February. Residents are respectfully requested to dress appropriately when in all the public areas of the Caister.

Bathing costumes are for the swimming pool, not the dining room.

The cost of electricity continues to burden the overheads of the company and residents are urged to be mindful of this cost and not use electrical items unnecessarily especially air conditioners when you are not physically in your apartment.

The summer rains have had a positive effect on the water levels in the dams that feed the greater Durban area.

Notwithstanding the above, please continue to use this resource sparingly to ensure there is sufficient water during the long winter season and assist with keeping the water cost down at Caister Lodge. For your information, please see below the current levels of the dams that feed the greater Durban area.
